Default Taoist Concept Class

Background
Taos use peculiar spells named curses and a mix of animalistic magic to conjure demonic magic from other realms to inflict damage, trap, or even reanimate. They're weapons are known as talismans, a few have their own manifestation on contact and it is a thrown weapon.

Basic Attributes
Max Health- 450 (-30 off the norm)
Energy- 60 (double the norm)
Max Armor- 50 (+10 energy, +15 armor while health is below 15% health)
Max Weapon- Recieve Dragon 5-35 shadow damage (dragon manifestation +10% fire damage, +10% piercing damage)
Max Focus- Gift of Flight +25 armor (-10% damage from traps, -10% effect from crippling, Bird's Gift)

New Stuff
Curses-
A new type of spell overcatagory that only a taoist can use. Broken into two subcatagories, Protocurses and Nethercurses. Proto=defensive/healing, Nether=offensive/degen.

Talismans-
Paper with an ancient writing on them. Some of the higher leveled ones have a powerful manifestation on contact with the enemy. Here are a short list of some high powered examples:
Recieve Dragon- Dragon Manifestation (+10% fire damage, +10% piercing damage)
Recieve Blood- Vampire Manifestation (+5% armor penetration, +1% life stealing [5% chance])
Recieve Serpent- Cobra Manifestation (+20% damage, 3 seconds of poison [5% chance])
Recieve Pain- Knife Manifestation (+15% damage, +50% armor penetration [5% chance])

Gifts-
Paper with ancient writing on them, attaches to various areas of the body when it comes into effect. Gifts will act like just any other focus until the Taoist's health and energy are both below the 30% mark at which point it's true power will open (only reveals for a total of 15 seconds), here is a short list of the ones with powers.
Gift of Flight- Bird's Gift (+33% movement speed, immunity to crippling, Immunity to magic that only effects the ground [earthquake, dragon stomp etc])
Gift of Insects- Wasp's Gift (recieves 90% less damage [1% chance], Poison attacking enemy for 3 seconds [5% chance])
Gift of Speed- Basalisk's Gift (recieves no penalty from entering tar pits or other area slowing effects, recieves no penalty from slowing hexes or crippling)
Gift of Scales-Dragon's Gift (+50 armor while being attacked in melee, attacking foe takes 5% damage dealt [5% chance])

Attributes
Taoism- (primary attribute)
for every point of taoism, the taoist gains 1 energy and skills recharge 4% faster.
Trans-
Includes many curses that transform the landscape around the taoist into defensive or offensive beings, inflicting major damage to the opponent.
Recieved Curse-
Includes mostly Nethercurses which send animalistic entities to the enemy inflicting large amounts of damage.
Recieved Blessing-
includes many protocurses that defend or reanimate the caster.

Sample Skils
Taoism
Tao Speech- 10 energy 1 cast 20 recharge
(Protocurse) for 5...60 seconds, taoist curses cast 15...33% faster.

Curse of Flight- 15 energy 1/2 cast 24 recharge
(Protocurse) for 5...20 seconds, you mount a scaled dragon gaining +33% movement speed and immunity to crippling and traps.

Trans
Earthshard Curse- 5 energy 2 cast 20 recharge
(Nethercurse) turn the earth in the area of target foe into spikes. All foes in the spikes take 5...95 damage.

Windblade Curse- 10 energy 1 cast 15 recharge
[elite nethercurse] target foe suffers 5...65 cold damage, suffers from bleeding for 5...15 seconds, suffers from deep wound for 5...15 seconds, and becomes dazed for 5...15 seconds.

Internal Earth Curse- 10 energy 1 cast 24 recharge
(nethercurse) target foe is cursed with Internal Earth for 3 seconds. Every second that foe is cursed with internal earth that foe moves an additional 33% slower (for the curse's duration). When this curse ends Earth particles explode inside the target dealing 5...25 earth damage and causing bleeding, deep wound, daze, and weakness for 5...20 seconds. This curse causes exhaustion.

Recieved Curse
Recieve Prismatic Curse- 5 energy 1 cast 24 recharge
[elite nethercurse] target foe suffers 5...100 damage of fire, earth, water, lightning, or curse damage. If that foe suffers curse damage (special) that foe loses 25% of his current health as well.

Recieve Taoist Eye Curse- 15 energy 1/2 cast 46 recharge
[elite nethercurse] cut your health in half for 60 seconds. Target foe suffers 100...150% of the health you lost in damage.

Recieve Released Anger curse- 5 energy 1 cast 12 recharge
(nethercurse) a released anger wasp stings target foe. Any allies attacking that foe gain 1...8 strikes of adrenaline and the foe is poisoned for 5...10 seconds.

Recieve Curse of Poison- 10 energy 1/2 cast 40 recharge
(nethercurse) For 60 seconds target foe recieves the curse of poison. If hit by a talisman while under the curse of poison, the foe is poisoned for 5...15 seconds.

Recieve Dragon's Curse- 5 energy 1 cast 12 recharge
(Nethercurse) target foe recieves the dragon's curse for 10 seconds. That foe takes 5...10 additional piercing damage while under the effects of this curse. When this curse ends all nearbye foes take 5...75 cold damage.

Recieved Blessing
Sparrow's Blessing- 15 energy 2 cast 10 recharge
(protocurse) all nearbye allies are healed for 5...50 health.

Bat's Blessing- 10 energy 4 cast 12 recharge
(protocurse) all nearbye allies steal up to 5...50 health from one nearbye foe.

Dragon's Skin- 5 energy 1 cast 15 recharge
(protocurse) You gain +5...40 armor for 5...30 seconds.

Daoshi spirit- 10 energy 2 cast 34 recharge
(protocurse) you gain 5...35 health for each enemy and dead ally in the area (maximum 250 health)

Reanimation- 5 energy 1 cast 26 recharge
[elite protocurse] for 5...40 seconds you recieve the curse of reanimation. If you would die while this curse is in effect, you drop to 1 health but still have full control over your corpse (you can still attack the opponent). Reanimation ends if you drop below more then 50...33% energy or if a target foe removes enchantments on you.

mmm, Idk much about taoism but apart from your choice of armor it seems to have very little to do with actual taoism, I mean, summoning dragons and angry wasps xD lol?
your gifts do somewhat resemble vossler's symbols, skills look like wish skills for geomancers or necros.

(Taoist were once famous for their concept of "black magic" using jian talismans as well as potions to control nature, bend the will of creatures, and manipulate the natural world t benefit their own needs.) Not that this really fixes too much of the whole wish list thing, but I made this class similair to very common Taoist myths, (I like going for a nice shot of reality inside of the fantasy :P)

Its coll in all but you kinda combined 3 prof alread in the game sorta of speakin

NecroMANCER-Summoning crittens to protect attack you
Elemtalist(ElementoMANCER)-Controlling power of nature
Mesmer(IllusionMANCER)-Puting different spels on the enemy

Mancer is kinda the thing its just a bog word for magic users so umm yeah you just combined 3 magic users in the game to Create this 1 Even though i believe you about the myth etc maybe you didnt but it really seems like it

I'm not taking offense, but where's the summoning *shows a completely blank look* The class doesn't really summon creatures (like the necromancer does from corpses) to the field, it just creates an image of them temporarily to achieve a goal, like damage or protection. Elementalists control the power of fire, water, earth, and lightning the taoist can only truly control the earth and wind but scorn fire as the destroyer, therefore if the game designers do put this class in, I'm sueing them if they add fire :P. I'll admit, the curses do somewhat resemble mesmer hexes, but I noticed that when I was making it and destroyed all the degenerative curses I had in the class. (I know this doesn't really add much, it just clears up a few things and gives you a nice little insight to the thought circulation around ancient Taoshi masters.)
